The foundation of our society is the family. Many of Extension's programs provide families with research-based answers to their day-to-day challenges. Extension is ready with answers on controlling household insects, protecting well-water, managing a family budget, helping families improve their eating habits, or dealing with the special concerns related to early childhood, parenting, or aging.

TAKE CONTROL: To provide families with solutions they need to address the struggling economy, the NC State University Family and Consumer Sciences program faculty have created "Take Control," a series of fact sheets on a variety of topics related to the economy including tips on saving money, talking to children about the economy, shopping for healthy foods on a tight budget, avoiding home foreclosure and many other timely topics.
