If a trip around the world is what you are craving look no further than the North Carolina Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center. Just because you can not drop everything and book an island vacation does not mean you can not experience the rich and diverse cuisine found around the world. Be adventurous! Spice up your menu, learn new methods of cooking, and taste new foods! All the dishes prepared will be served as our lunch for the day.

Check out our class schedule and descriptions below and register for one or both. These classes are open to adults and youth 11 years and older.

Greek Cuisine

Prepare baklava, tzatziki, and many other foods from the Mediterranean country of Greece on Saturday, April 6, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center. Cost is $15.

Islands of the Caribbean

Explore the rich, vibrant, and multicultural flavors of the Caribbean on Saturday, May 18, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. We will be preparing dishes from Jamaica, Cuba, and Puerto Rico. Cost is $15.

Registration is required and not complete until the class fee is received. Register online. Payment is due within 5 business days of registering and can be made in person at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center or by mailing a check made payable to “Currituck County” to 120 Community Way, Barco, NC 27917.
