NC Cooperative Extension in Vance & Warren County is recruiting folks to become volunteers in our Master Gardener℠ program. Participants will receive 40 hours of intensive training in all things gardening, including insects, diseases, weeds, flowers, turf, trees, fruits, vegetables, herbs and much more. In return, trainees are required to contribute 40 hours of service in various community projects, including demonstration gardens, youth education, writing newsletter articles, and other outreach activities.

The volunteer training class will begin on July 30, 2019 and will meet every Tuesday, 9 a.m. to noon. Classes will be taught by expert presenters, including Extension Agents from the region. The cost of the training class will be approximately $125 and includes a copy of the definitive gardening manual for North Carolina, the Extension Gardener Handbook. Download an application form and submit to NC Cooperative Extension, 305 Young St., Henderson, NC 27536 by July 12th to be considered for the program.
