Save the dates! Training to become a volunteer in the Extension Master Gardener℠ program of Vance and Warren Counties will begin on August 3rd, 2021. The class will meet on Tuesday mornings for 16 weeks, covering all aspects of gardening including fruits, vegetables, weeds, insects, diseases, trees, shrubs, turf, and more.

After training, each volunteer intern is required to provide 40 hours of service in our community outreach projects. No green thumb required, and many other skills are needed including public speaking, writing, photography, social media, event management, graphic design, and much more.

The training fee will be $125 and is due, along with the completed application, by July 20, 2021. Depending on the current recommendations from the NCDHHS and CDC, some or all of the training may be offered via the Zoom video conference platform.
