Production of Watermelon and Cantaloupe Meeting

The production of Watermelon and Cantaloupe can be enjoyable and profitable when grown in the garden or on your farm. Watermelon and Cantaloupe are two of the healthiest fruits and are treats of the summer season.

The N.C. Cooperative Extension, Vance County Center is hosting a meeting on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 6:30 p.m. at the Vance County Regional Farmers Market located at 210 Southpark Drive in Henderson.

Watermelon and Cantaloupe Production Meeting

Farmers and gardeners interested in watermelon and cantaloupe production are invited to this meeting.  Information that will be provided will help you increase your production during the 2023 season.

You will learn about recommended varieties of watermelon and cantaloupe, nutrient requirements, insect and disease control in melons, irrigation practices to increase melon production, and methods to increase your markets for watermelon and cantaloupe.
