2019 Small Farms Week

N.C. A&T State University Celebrates Small Farms Week March 24–30, 2019

N.C. Cooperative Extension at N.C. Agricultural and Technical (A&T) State University, is scheduled for event kicks off the morning of March 24 in Duplin County, home of the 2018 Small Farmer of the Year, where the highlights include a panel discussion and a tour of local farms, including Duplin winery.

The events continue on N.C. A&T State University campus in Greensboro on March 26–28 with workshops and demonstrations, including informational sessions about season extension, the lessons learned from Hurricane Florence and farming industrials hemp.

This week is a special time to honor small-scale agriculture across North Carolina and to showcase the tremendous contributions to the economy and well being that small farmers make.

The N.C. Cooperative Extension of Vance County is also currently accepting canned food donations as part of their 3rd Annual Food Drive. Donation location will be at N.C. Cooperative Extension, Vance County Center located at 305 Young Street in Henderson.
