Note

Like cranberries, blueberries contain substances that can prevent certain bacteria from binding to the wall of your bladder, which may help prevent UTIs. Blueberries have the highest antioxidant capacity of all the popular fruits and vegetables. The antioxidants in blueberries seem to benefit your brain by aiding brain function and delaying mental decline. Blueberries are incredibly healthy,  nutritious, boost your heart health, brain function, and numerous aspects of your body.

Bananas are one of the highest sources of potassium. You know that potassium is an electrolyte that we lose when we sweat, so putting that back into your body is great for bone health. The bananas also help thicken and sweeten the shake and give it a creamy texture.

So whip up this homemade shake this weekend with some fresh or frozen blueberries and bananas and let Nitasha Kearney hear about your experience making this shake. You can contact Nitasha at ndkearey@ncat.edu for more recipes and exciting nutritional programs!
