Hey kids, the Vance County 4-H Youth Beekeeping Club is starting up. It will be open to kids ages 5 to 18 years old. Our first meeting will be held at the Vance County Regional Farmers Market on March 28th, at 6:00 p.m.

Beekeeping Club Interest Meeting

Are you curious about beekeeping and how it all works? Do you want to learn about the important role bees play in agriculture, the various parts and functions of bee colonies? Bees see all colors except what color? That and their sense of what helps them find the flowers they need to collect pollen? Honey bees pollinate more than how many crops in the United States? Honeybees live in hives (or colonies) and the members are divided into three parts. Do you know what they are?

Find out the answers to these questions and so much more. Sign up for our “interest” Beekeeping meeting  or for more information, please call 252-438-8188 or contact Wykia Macon, Extension Agent, 4-H Youth Development at wsmacon@ncsu.edu.
